“You’re working out!? But it’s your birthday!!!” they say. “Exactly”, I reply, “Especially on my birthday.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me working out isn’t a punishment or something I dread. Being active is something I love. And frankly it’s something I need to keep me sane. Literally. I don’t care much for birthday celebrations (my own I mean) but even if I did I’d still be working out just the same. If your birthday is supposed to be a day where you put your own needs first and do what makes you feel good, then this is exactly what I should be doing. This is how I take care of myself. How I show myself how much love and respect I have for this body I’ve been given, and how I make sure I have many more birthdays to celebrate. So yes it’s my birthday, which is why I always spend at least an hour or two of this day doing one of the things I love most.
Shoutout to Kendrick for this fire track and to the girl who’s face I’m humping in the mirror?
